KPMG offer a number of activities, events and work programmes for undergraduate students, each designed with the students experience and learning in mind. You can take part in KPMG’s International Case Competition (KICC), visit KPMG offices for a day on an Insight Day, Work Shadow Afternoon, or work in our Audit, Tax or Advisory departments for a number of weeks/months as part of a Summer Internship or Work Placement (Co-op) Programme.

Our Summer Internship Programme is aimed at college students who are in penultimate year of study and take place in KPMG Dublin, Cork, Galway, and Belfast offices. Internships range in duration from 8-10 weeks (Dublin, Cork, Galway), or 2-3 weeks (Belfast) and will commence in Summer 2019. You will have the opportunity to work for the Audit, Tax Consulting or Advisory Departments. A KPMG Summer Internship is an excellent opportunity to discover the world of professional services and get a head start in your career.
During the Internship at KPMG you will undergo an extensive training programme that will not only prepare you for life in a professional environment but also help you to succeed when you return to final year of college. After Induction you will take part in IT skills workshops, Team skills training and develop your Presentation Skills in interactive sessions. You will be given hands-on work experience and gain exposure to a variety of clients. You are also supported on an individual level throughout the placement. You will be assigned a ‘Buddy’ who will be there to help you settle in and answers any questions you have day-to-day. As well as this you will have a manager who will help you to reach your goals and develop professionally.

KPMG’s International Case Competition (KICC)
KICC is an amazing event run by KPMG offices all over the world. The event will take place in February 2018. We are no longer accepting applications. To apply you need yourself and 3 team members that are currently undergraduate students at universities/colleges in Ireland to send in your CVs along with a team name to firstname.lastname@example.org. Each team must have gender diversity & cannot be made up of all males or females. Shortlisted teams compete in regional heats by examining a business case and presenting their findings to a KPMG panel of experts. Regional winners then compete at the National Final. The National winning team will go to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for a week long all-expenses paid trip and will complete on a global level representing KPMG Ireland. KPMG Tax Consulting Competition
KPMG’s Tax Consulting Competition is a new and innovative team competition aimed at highlighting a career in Tax to university/college students. Teams take part in a day long activity where they analyse a business case with a specific tax focus. This could be relating to current affairs, corporation tax, the tax implications in a merger or acquisition, and other dynamic real world scenarios. The teams present in front of a panel of KPMG partners and the winners take home a substantial cash prize. The competition typically takes place in September each year, applications for 2018 are not yet open.
KPMG Insight Days
Each year KPMG hosts a number of Insight Days and Shadow Afternoons for undergraduate students. This is an invaluable opportunity to come into KPMG offices and experience a day in the life of a KPMG graduate. You will hear from numerous KPMG staff including senior management, graduates and also internship/placement students. You will be given a chance to ask questions and learn more about the working life in KPMG and what we have to offer.See more...
We host ‘Shadow Afternoons’ where you will be paired up with a KPMG graduate. You will work with the graduate for the afternoon, getting to see and experience a typical day in the life of a KPMG employee.

Students have the opportunity to work in one of our Audit, Tax Consulting, or Advisory departments. You will be fully immersed in KPMG life and work. You will work on client projects, getting a chance to visit client sites and contribute to meaningful projects.

Global Internship Programme
Each year as part of our Summer Internship Programme we send 3 or 4 interns on the ‘Global Internship Programme’. This means that you will spend 8 weeks working in the Dublin office and 4 weeks working in one of the USA offices including 1 week of training in the New York office.
Please note that Global Interns are chosen from successful Summer Internship candidates and must complete a 12 week programme.
Student Sports & Social Committee
We have a dedicated Sports & Social Club that is managed by our interns and placements. We ask for volunteers from different colleges to take part. The purpose of the committee is to organise fun, sporting and social events, and to improve the overall social experience for the students. Events include Christmas parties, Summer BBQs, a Formal Ball and a Summer Boat Party. Students can also get involved in any of the sporting events happening throughout their time in KPMG such as tag rugby, golf, hockey and more.
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
The desire to ‘give something back’ is a particularly strong feature of our people and is a value we want to instil in our interns. Interns are encouraged to get involved in CSR at KPMG. From teaching in disadvantaged schools to planting trees, we have many projects that interns get involved in during their time here. Each year we organise a CSR event specifically for the interns and placements to take part in.
International Global Advantage Programme
Intern and placements have the chance to take part in the International Global Advantage Programme. Global Advantage is a 3-day global leadership programme for interns. Previously this programme has taken place in Barcelona, Dublin and Berlin. On this programme, students experience:
- Training: 8 hours of KPMG’s leadership development training
- Outside activities: Exposure to local historical/cultural activities
- Networking with 80 students from 10+ countries
- Client interaction: A visit with a local KPMG client
